SnowWorld in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, is the largest indoor ski facility in the world. With a total of 35,000m² of snow, five slopes (the longest of which is 520m), seven lifts, and a terrain park, it easily dwarfs any similar facility in the UK.
#7 Most Crowded Snowball Fight
When you think of snowball fights, Seattle is probably not the first place that comes to mind. However, the city recently hosted the world’s largest snowball fight, with nearly 6,000 revelers descending on Seattle Snow Day to participate. With 162,000 pounds of snow to play with, this sounds like every kid’s dream come true! The event was organized by snowball fight enthusiast and entrepreneur Ryan Williams, who is no stranger to organizing large-scale snowball fights. In fact, he has organized snowball fights in locations all over the world, including London, New York, and Moscow. This latest event in Seattle was his biggest yet, and it was a huge success, with people of all ages taking part in the event.
Snow World Records #6 Biggest Snowboard
When it comes to the biggest snowboard in the world, there is no one that can come close to the 10m by 2.15m board made in Switzerland. This behemoth of a board is sure to turn heads when riders take to the slopes on it. At over 10 feet wide and nearly 22 feet long, this board is not only the biggest in the world. Up to 20 riders can use it for all types of riding, from cruising the slopes to shredding the powder.

Jamie Pierre is a big name in freeskiing. He is known for holding the world record for the highest cliff drop at 75m. That is until Fred Syversen smashed this when he “accidentally” hit a 105m cliff drop through one of his lines in 2015.

Those crazy Russians did it again! This time, a whopping 700 people hit the slopes in their bikinis and budgie-smugglers to set a new world record. Skiers and snowboarders alike descended a 700-meter slope in the Sheregesh Ski Resort, in Novokuznetsk, Russia, to break the previous record of 251 bikini-clad riders. While this may not be the most extreme skiing competition out there, it’s definitely one of the most entertaining. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love watching scantily-clad people ski down a hill?
Snow World Records #2 Oldest Snowboarder – Banana George
There’s no need to stop skiing just because you’re getting old – just ask George Blair. Blair, also known as Banana George by his friends thanks to his yellow onesie, continued to tear up the slopes every year until the ripe old age of 92. Skiing is a great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors, no matter how old you are. So next time you’re feeling down about your age, think of George Blair and get back on the slopes!
